He pumps iron all day long, his anguished cries sounding through the thin walls as if he's involved in some undiscovered variety of sex. He hopes to get invited to the Austrian embassy for a reception in Schwarzenegger's honor, knowing that Arnold will give him his big break. ("Here, kid, you take over. ") Celebrity, to him, seems to have little connection to talent, and one of my favorite scenes is when he arrives at the gym with a rented celebrity look-alike, a Burt Reynolds clone. The appearance of celebrity is so much more important than the reality that the look-alike just about fills the bill. I mean he just has such a great face and attractive fit body and super fun personality. The whole package honestly. But as far as I know, he's straight. He even started dating one of the girls in our friend group and I love them both as friends so of course I was happy for them, but I also couldn't help being a little jealous. However, the two of us would also spend a lot of time together playing video games most nights and hanging out since our dorm rooms were close by. We'd stay up supppper late just hanging out. He was always super flirty and made offhand comments about doing stuff with guys and it even became sort of a running joke amongst my friend group that he was bicurious because of the way he flirted with me and other guy friends. And especially when we were alone together, he would always move his legs over mine on the couch so that they were perpendicular, sometimes he would grab my head and pretend to lean in for a kiss then turn away and laugh about it, hover his hand over my crotch, talk about cuddling/sleeping in the same bed, shoving his crotch and bare ass close to my face, and other things that I've forgotten.
It's not an awful film but it's not a great film either it's about as average as an action movie can get. mrs. Henson does a good job though some of the supporting roles could be better. Plot is predictable with some cheesy dialogue but the story moves at a brisk pace. It's not the retro action movie you probably hoped for but it's an OK movie to watch if there is nothing else to watch. As far as action movies go Proud Mary is just OK.
