My reason for 3 stars is I don't care for the unrelated stuff. I just wanted the concert. We are treated to some sort of mob video, a (probably illegal) police escort through some city or another, some child nudity where the little boy apparently urinates into a creek. Then there is some more gangster violence. Once the music starts it is punctuated by more scenes of ghouls, horseback riding, gangsters. A very long segment of an airplane taxiing. The packaging is shoddy at best. There is no playlist, no list of musicians, no songwriting credits. It almost seems like this is a bootleg album. The only redemption is two cuts of "Stairway to Heaven. " The second one seems to be the original audio version, after the airplane takes off the screen goes blank through most of Stairway. Sheesh. Koku realizes who Canopus is. After confronting Keith on the roof of the hospital, Koku agrees to meet him at a temple the next day. Keith is declared a murder suspect. Minatsuki gives the OK for the others to attack Koku, but Keith intervenes to protect him. The RIS receives an ultimatum. Eric implores Keith to return to the RIS, then suspends Lily in an effort to track Keith down. Minatsuki sends Takeru after Koku. Keith turns himself in and the RIS decides to spend the few remaining hours laying a trap for the suspected head of Market Maker, using Lily as bait. Koku searches for the zeppelin containing Market Maker and Yuna. Meanwhile, Keith, Eric and Kaela frantically search for Gilbert and Lily. Keith sets off in pursuit of Gilbert once more. Koku finds the zeppelin and Minatsuki, but Laica escapes with Yuna in accordance with the prophecy. The RIS races to the scene, while Keith confronts Gilbert at the old Jaula Blanca facility. As I try to do with most movies, I went into The Wicksboro Incident knowing nothing about it and I think it helped with this one a lot. The movie starts with an interview with an older man, Llyod who tells his story about how he was working at some secret government test site back in the 50s and something happened causing the whole town's inhabitants to disappear. The opening interview with Llyod is put together like a simple documentary. A seated interview with him and illustrations and photos layered over top to help bring the story to life. The interview seems to drag on a bit too long for me and I was worried the whole movie was going to be done this way but thankfully after the interview, the filmmakers decide to go on a road trip with Llyod to Texas to try and locate the town. This is where the movie starts to shift into more standard found footage territory with some driving and stops along the way to help drag out the runtime. Our trio does eventually get to Texas and after some more driving, they find where they think Wicksboro should be and eventually come to find something proving the existence of the town.
