" today i saw a commercial of scrat dancing to my boo by ghost town dj's and i actually wanted to kill myself I forgot that I watched this. And it was months ago. Remember when this series was just about three prehistoric animals trying to return a baby? THERE IS NO REASON FOR THERE TO BE FIVE OF YOU. I'd much rather die than ever watch this movie again. Can these things be extinct already. When watching a children's animated flick, I can easily not take it seriously and just enjoy it but this franchise man, this franchise! We've gone from down to earth simple fun animated flick to jamming these ice age films full of useless characters and even have space exploding, rocks going everywhere, making the scope wide as hell which isn't always a bad thing but in this films case it is. Sadly this franchise is probably at its end, over the top beginning to end as well as repeating the same jokes and Scrat cliches.

The characters are mostly just obnoxious or just not interesting. The relationships are cliched and contrived, the plot makes no… I was going to write an actual review for this movie but I really can't be fucking bothered. You desperately hope the end is nigh for the Ice Age franchise when watching this fifth entry, that's scarcely an echo of the original film by this point. It's degenerated into an animated sitcom with lame and lazy pop culture references passing as jokes, complete with subplots about missing anniversaries and a daughter flying the nest, and absolutely loaded with characters that have no reason to be here except they were in the other films. There's an air of creative bankruptcy throughout as they have exhausted everything they could possibly do by this stage, with a flimsy, almost nonsensical story that retreads beats we've seen in previous entries; even the scenes with Scrat feel tired this time out. The irritatingly slapstick tone means this is pretty much for kids only, but this is a series that deserves to be put out of it's misery. So I've been watching all the Ice Age films with my little cute 6 year old sister. When I told her this was the last one she got sad, but this film seemed to cheer her up.
