Because of that, I've broken the top awards categories (our 'Daewangs') into two divisions - Underrated and Nugu (aside from Rookie of the Year). In the end I'm okay with the realization that this game, however good it may turn out to be, will never be on the same level as BG1 and 2 in my mind. They are my childhood game and I will always view them with rose-tinted glasses and I sincerely hope that this game will turn out so good that, in the eyes of younger gamers out there, it will become the timeless masterpiece that BG1 and 2 are in mine. That being said I feel there are still some steps that coud be taken to make this make more akin to BG1 and BG2 - First the character creator. There are some design flaws in it, choosing your name should go at the end like it does in most other similar games and there shoud be a lot more explanations about the classes, what power you could get etc. I would also like the option to roll for stats, if only to recapture the experience of rolling for a looong time in BG and finally getting a high roll that make you feel powerful. What also stood out in my mind was the music. The BG1 and 2 character creator was flawed but the music was awesome, it really set the tone and every time I hear it I get fired up.

I've been following the sales almost religiously, and plan on posting about it soon, lol. They reached over 200k pre-orders, so 250k on gaon definitely seems possible! There are still a couple events that you buy albums on specific days for, so definitely excited to see where sales during this promotion ends at. IT'z ME just hit 90k, I'm not super hopeful, but I'd still love to see us hit 180k on hanteo this cb!

First some perspective: I'm a long time player and fan of Baldur's Gate, I've played it litterally hundreds of times over the years and I also took part in the EE beta and did some translation volunteering for BG2:EE. On the other hand I'm pretty meh about DOS, I liked the first one but the second one didn't draw me in (mostly because of the skill based progression system) After playing some time the early access my first impression was: "Well it's nice but it doesn't feel like Baldur's Gate". I then took some time pondering why that was and also what would it mean to "feel like Baldur's Gate". After some thoughts I arrived to the conclusion that, at least for me, it will never fell like BG1 or BG2 but that's expected and that's normal. Let me elaborate: - From an historical perspective, BG1 and BG2 were groundbreaking in their own time, they redefined the genre and introduced many of us to it. That helped the game make a lasting impression on all of us. The climate for CRPG isn't the same nowadays, so the standards are higher.

In comparaison the music in BG3 character creator feel too generic and less "epic". - The in-game UI: First I feel that the character portraits (bottom left) are really bland while the illustrations in the loading screen are pretty good, I would like a return to the BG style of drawed portraits and/or the ability to switch between the current style and the BG style. - One other gripe I have is the description of the items, I'd like to get more info on the items when examining them, e. g. when examining an armor I should be able to get its stats: what AC it give, what maximal DEX bonus i would get, what perk I need to equip it, etc. Same with the spells, I should be able to get more info on the spells: Cast time, duration, spell level, what class is it, what school/domain is it, etc. On that aspect Larian could return to the parchment style description with flavor lore text and the relevant information. For the spells, some BG flavour could be added by referencing name like Larloch, Melf, Bigby, Sniloc, etc - This one is a bit petty but when I go to the inventory, I should also get my paperdoll with my equipment, it is very rare that I open the inventory for something other that changing my equipment/ checking if a new item should be equipped.
