Há algum tempo, um programa de televisão entrevistou certa personalidade, possuidora de vasta fortuna, após ter sido vítima de um sequestro. Ela havia sido encontrada em seu cativeiro, em um bairro pobre, vizinho à sua residência. O entrevistador perguntou-lhe sobre os traumas e efeitos do sequestro e como ela vinha conduzindo a vida, após ocorrência tão marcante. Não sem causar surpresa, a conhecida dama da sociedade mostrava-se tranquila e feliz, agradecida por estar viva, de volta ao seio familiar e dos amigos. Mas, disse ela, a grande marca desse sequestro, foi o que ele conseguiu produzir em mim internamente. Nos dias de cativeiro, eu ficava pensando e refletindo o que era realmente importante para mim, o que valia a pena, o que tinha valor. Naquele momento eu quase não dispunha de nada, nem mesmo do destino da minha vida, analisava a senhora. Foi aí que percebi que coisas, sem importância ou significado, eu valorizava demais. Jamais seria capaz de sair do meu carro para abrir o portão da minha casa.

Acudir de forma impenitente al cine todos los fines de semana y poder dar cuenta de la totalidad de los estrenos era algo muy sencillo hace veinticuatro años en mi ciudad natal. Con sólo tres salas —y dos cines— para cubrir la oferta cinematográfica, plantearse un doblete en dos de ellas un viernes y el sábado acudir a la tercera a dar cuenta de la posible novedad de taquilla, si es que la había, terminó por convertirse en práctica habitual. Y aún así, aún acudiendo de forma religiosa cada siete días al cine, y aún dando prioridad a según qué géneros, había títulos que se me terminaban escapando. 'Freejack: sin identidad' ('Freejack', Geoff Murphy, 1992), como podréis imaginar, fue uno de ellos. Directo responsable de ello fueron los pobres comentarios que hacia la cinta había podido leer en Fotogramas y el que, seamos francos, por mucho que fuera ciencia-ficción, no daba muy buenas sensaciones que un filme contara en su reparto con Mick Jagger. Dos décadas y media más tarde, elaborando la lista de lo que iba a tener cabida durante el transitar por los años noventa de este ciclo dedicado al género, me topé de nuevo con la cinta y, aunque mis reticencias a verla no habían mutado en exceso en estos cinco lustros, me dije, ¡qué demonios!

Trinity Is Still My Name Trinity Is Still My Name (1971): A couple of two-bit thieving brothers try and keep a promise to their dying father: stick together and become successful outlaws.
