El director barcelonés J. Bayona ("Lo imposible") entra de lleno en la industria de las superproducciones de Hollywood con la quinta película de la franquicia "Jurassic Park", basada en los libros de Michael Crichton. Cabe destacar que la cinta, la segunda de la línea argumental comenzada con "Jurassic World" (2015), mantiene la esencia original de la saga de aventuras iniciada en 1993 por su admirado Steven Spielberg, que aquí participa como productor ejecutivo, aunque también imprime un tono más tenebroso. Chris Pratt ("Guardianes de la galaxia") y Bryce Dallas Howard ("Criadas y señoras") vuelven a encarnar a la pareja protagonista, que viaja a la isla Nublar para evitar que los dinosaurios perezcan bajo la lava. Una vez allí descubren una trama que podría acabar con la Tierra tal y como la conocemos, y que esconde nuevas y aún más aterradoras criaturas.
