It's definitely geared towards a tween audience, but that's the best thing about the film. The kids are adorable, the adults are goofy, and the dance segments are really well done. To The Beat has sass without being too cynical, and it definitely pushes the values of hard work, reaching for your goals, and the love of family. The dance numbers are great, and the kids in the movie are adorable. It has a definite Disney or Nickelodeon flavor without being over the top. Your kids will love it, because it's relatable to them, and adults will appreciate the grownup elements as well. I had a ton of fun with this one. I watched it with my 8 year old niece and she went crazy for it which made me happy, because it's hard to find good kids programming that doesn't make you wince.
