Vikings: Ivar plans to return to England in 'The Buddha' trailer The latest episode of historical fantasy Vikings saw another unexpected death in the form of Bishop Heahmund (played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers). The charismatic actor was a breath of fresh air on the History Channel and Amazon Prime Video series, and his character had a number of electrifying scenes with the regular cast. But in a brutal twist, the Bishop was murdered by King Harald Fairhair (Peter Franzen). It wasn't long ago Harald, who is known to be the first Nordic king, killed his own brother Halfdan in the first half of season five, so it wasn't too much of a shock to see him continue his trail of blood. Sadly Lagertha could only stand by and watch as Heahmund begged her to save his life, and it was too late when the king rained arrows into his body. In true Viking fashion, the Bishop was still given a proper burial, but Lagertha chose not to attend. Fans panicked as they wondered what had happened to Lagertha, but luckily the actress who plays her has assured she will be returning.
