However I am a fan of the supernatural aspect of these stories, not physically stepping to this doll. Let's be real. The first time that little thing came walking up Chuckie style, I would punt his little ass to kingdom come. That's the funny part of it and I guess I kind of like that comedic aspect to it. On the other hand the real tale is much more frightening. Here is a perfectly innocent looking doll, and he drives people to madness. Scares them SO bad they have to ASK to take the doll's picture in the museum where he is now. All done without Robert killing anyone with his two hands. It's the supernatural aspect of a demon in a doll that is much more frightening. I wish they would have made more of that. That being said, I still enjoyed it cuz it's Robert, man. Lol. There's some misdirection and even quite a bit of confusion about some of the plot points and characters. (ie. Lockheed) I do wish they would have stuck to the original backstories and followed the actual Demon Bear saga more closely. The actors are not bad actors, but the director obviously did not know how to use their talents properly. Sam's accent was all over the place, as was Rahne's. The movie has a lot of assumptions for fans. If you've never seen any X-Men movie, you may not recognize some of the names and references. The ending was very lackluster and didn't bring home the moral/lesson they were trying to push so hard. (Spoiler Alert: It's the same lesson as Tomorrowland) It's nice to finally see the New Mutants on screen. I'm hoping that the new MCU uses them instead of the classic X-Men to start off their mutant integration into the universe. I'm glad Fox is done with X-Men and Marvel movies because they are horrible at bringing those characters to life properly.
